Dear Pere,

I do not think it will be necessary to buy me those coton(his spelling) things – or at least to send them at once. I have bought at the expense of the mission 2 coton pants. & 3 coton vests.

Still there remains the collars which I shall be wanting badly & the day shirts.

You might let me know the price of things you send me.

Life has been rather level & quiet since my last Sunday’s letter so I will not write much now.

Don (pto)

It is still very hot in spite of a long refreshing shower this morning.

Last night I walked to Passey with Calvert (an F.o.R-friend of early war days) & returning, took off my coat & even then had a mild Turkish Bath –( I was wearing no waistcoat).

Tonight we are to have a party of farewell to J. Edward Harvey & his wife – at the Hotel Britannique. I am writing this hurriedly in the office.

Don.
